Palm-Vein Recognition Terminal
The Zhcloudlink P8 palm-vein access terminal combines palm vein and palm print. It has an 8-inch screen, a palm library of 10000, a recognition distance of 5–15 cm, and a recognition time under 500 ms. It supports card reading, one enrollment for many terminals, and can connect to attendance, visitor, and meeting check-in.
AI access control / Palm vein
Model: P8
The P8 is a biometric terminal that combines palm vein and palm print. It uses a wide field of view and infrared fill light for high-accuracy recognition, with fast matching and a large list. It also integrates an IC card reader and suits access control, visitors, and meeting check-in. It can be used with smart community, construction-site real-name, attendance, visitor, and campus access applications.

Product features
- Dual-core architecture: the large core handles compute, the small core handles real-time control, with a built-in true random number generator.
- Supports RSA-2048, AES-256, MD5, and SHA encryption.
- Uses palm vein in place of face recognition, reducing reliance on face images.
- TOF ranging detects the palm and is unaffected by temperature, air pressure, or humidity.
- The same device can both match and enroll palm vein.
- Enroll on one device, upload to the platform, then send to other palm-vein devices: one enrollment, many terminals.
- Optional combined IC / national ID card reader for card passage, ID-document passage, and visitor national-ID verification.
- The property office can import lists in bulk. Custom voice, image and video ads, and remote upgrade are supported.
- Open interfaces for secondary development and integration.

Management platform and API
It can work with an attendance platform, a visitor platform, a smart labor real-name platform, or a one-face campus office platform. The management platform provides a standard interface to upload data to a third-party platform.
The device provides an API and can connect to a third-party platform. When the existing interfaces are not enough, they can be customized for the project.
Data can stay on the device or be uploaded. The big-data platform covers three workflows: enterprise attendance can set clock-in and clock-out times and shifts, and query records; visitors can book in a WeChat mini program for console review; meeting check-in can set the meeting and attendees, count present and absent, and generate a report.
Questions
What does the P8 palm-vein access terminal recognize?
The P8 recognizes both palm vein and palm print, and uses the palm for passage in place of the face. Matching supports 1:1 and 1:N, with a palm library of 10000. FAR is no higher than 0.0001%, and FRR is no higher than 0.01%.
How far should the palm be held?
The recognition distance is 5 to 15 cm. Horizontal rotation and forward-back tilt are each allowed within ±20°. TOF ranging detects the palm. Recognition time is under 500 ms, and power-on time is under 250 ms. Fill light is 850 nm infrared, with a 2W peak.
Can one enrollment be used on multiple devices?
Yes. The same P8 can both enroll and match. After the template is uploaded to the platform, it is sent to other palm-vein devices.
What are the P8 display, system, and dimensions?
An 8-inch HD IPS screen, Android 11, a 64-bit quad-core ARM processor, 1GB of memory, and 8GB of storage. The body is 299 × 130 × 24 mm, aluminum alloy, ingress rating IP55, operating temperature -10℃ to 55℃. Installation is wall mount or bracket.
Besides palm vein, how else can the door be opened?
A combined ID / IC card reader is standard. An optional national ID card reader supports ID-document passage and visitor national-ID verification. The relay output drives an electric lock, and the terminal provides USB, DC12V, and RJ45.
